Redsys test mode: try out the shop without charging

Before opening online sales, it is a good idea to make a few test purchases. That is what the Redsys Tests environment is for: the payment flow is the real one, but nothing is charged.

Turning on test mode

1. Go to Settings → Customer payments.
2. With Supplier set to Redsys, set the Environment to Tests.
3. Use the test merchant code and key your bank gives you and click Save.

While it is set this way, you will see the Payments in test mode notice throughout the panel. Click it to go straight to the payment settings.

How test purchases appear

• Your shop shows customers a notice: payments are not real and nothing is charged. At the end of the purchase, the confirmation says it is a test order.
• In All bookings and in POS → Transactions, these purchases appear marked as TEST. In the booking details, the payment section says Test · not a real payment.
• They do not count towards sales totals or towards what each customer has spent.
• They do not give club points.
• Confirmation emails are still sent, so you can check that they arrive correctly.

Deleting the test data

When there are test purchases, the payments screen shows the Test data card with how many orders, bookings and transactions there are.

1. Click Delete test data.
2. Confirm the warning. It cannot be undone.

The test orders, bookings, transactions and passes are deleted, along with coupon uses and anything they had added to the club. Your customers are not deleted, because they may be real people, and real data is not touched. This card is still available after switching to Production, so you can also clean up the tests later.

Starting to take real payments

1. When everything works, go back to Settings → Customer payments.
2. Change the Environment to Production.
3. Enter the real key your bank gives you in SHA-256 secret key and click Save.

From then on, the test notices disappear and online payments are charged for real.
