Connecting Redsys to take card payments in the online shop
Enter your Redsys virtual POS details so your customers pay by card when they book, and understand what happens with confirmed, declined or abandoned payments.
With Redsys connected, your customers pay by card when they make a booking in your online shop. Your bank gives you the details when you sign up for the Redsys virtual POS. To set it up, you need the POS management permission.
Where to set it up
Go to Settings → Customer payments. You can also reach the same screen from POS → Payment gateway.
- In Supplier, choose Redsys. Its fields will appear.
- Enter the Merchant code (FUC, 9 digits) your bank has given you.
- Enter the Terminal. Unless your bank tells you otherwise, it is usually 001.
- In Environment, choose Tests to start or Production to take real payments.
- Leave Currency (ISO 4217) at 978 if you charge in euros.
- Paste the SHA-256 secret key provided by your bank or Redsys.
- Click Save.
The key is never shown again. If one is already saved, leave the field empty to keep it and enter it only when you want to change it. Redsys does not work until you save the merchant code and the key. In the meantime, the shop keeps accepting bookings and the customer pays at the venue on the day of their visit.
You do not have to set up any addresses
Uelta automatically tells Redsys where the customer returns to after paying and where the payment notification is sent. There is no address to type in by hand. On the bank's page, the customer sees your venue's company name, and the page appears in your company's main language.
What happens with each payment
- Successful payment: the booking changes to Paid and the customer receives the confirmation email. If the product's Payment mode is “Partial payment (deposit)”, only the deposit is charged, the booking stays at Partial payment and the rest is paid at the venue.
- Declined or cancelled payment: the booking is cancelled and its places are released. If a coupon was used, it becomes available again.
- Abandoned payment: if the customer closes the bank's page and does not finish paying, their places stay reserved for 30 minutes. After that time, the booking is cancelled so as not to block capacity.
- Late payment: if the bank confirms the payment after the booking has been cancelled, the booking is restored as paid. In that case, check the capacity of that session.
A payment that has already been confirmed is not undone even if repeated notifications arrive from the bank. In addition, the order is only marked as paid if the amount and the merchant code match those of the order.
