Discount codes

Create codes such as SUMMER10 with a percentage or a fixed amount, valid at the POS, in staff bookings and/or on the customer booking page, with dates, usage limits and products.

Discount codes are created in Products → Discount codes. They are included in every plan. To create them you need permission to manage customers.

Create a code

  1. Click New code.
  2. Enter the Code (what the customer types): 3 to 24 letters, numbers or hyphens, for example SUMMER10. It is saved in capitals and can't be repeated.
  3. If you like, add an Internal name (optional).
  4. In Type, choose Percentage (%) or Fixed amount (€) and fill in How much it takes off.
  5. In Where it's valid, tick one or more: POS, Panel (staff bookings) and Customer booking page.
  6. Set the conditions and save.

Conditions

  • Minimum purchase (0 = no minimum): it looks at the total of the purchase.
  • Valid from and Valid until: with no dates, it's always valid.
  • Total uses and Uses per customer (0 = no limit). By default, each customer can use it once.
  • First purchase only and, if you have the points club, Club members only.
  • Only for these products (none ticked = all): the discount only applies to those products.
  • Status: Active or Disabled.

A code is valid at all your venues. A fixed amount never takes a purchase below zero.

How it's used

  • On the customer booking page: the customer types the code in the box in the basket and clicks Apply. The discount appears under the subtotal. The box only shows if you have an active code for the booking page.
  • At the POS: first add the products to the receipt, then scan or type the code in the box at the top of the receipt. The code takes money off the products, not off what's left to pay on a booking.
  • In the panel: in Bookings → Create booking or New booking, type the code in Discount code. It comes off the booking amount and, if the booking is cancelled before anything is paid, the code becomes free again.

A code doesn't add up with the manual Discount at the POS: if you apply one, the other is removed. Uelta always calculates the discount at checkout.

Tracking

The list shows the Discount, Where it's valid, the Terms, the Uses (and how much has been taken off), the Validity and the Status: Active, Disabled, Expired, Scheduled or Sold out. Use Search code to find one.

  • A code that has already been used can't be deleted or have its code changed: disable it instead.
  • If you have the points club from Marketing, the DESC-… codes that members earn also show here, under Club rewards. They can't be edited, but you can click Void and return the points to void one the member hasn't used yet.
